Time is often a fleeting, incomprehensible dimension. The road is not always clear, leaving the path intangible. We often don't experience life through seemingly sequential events, yet time tries to order things and we use it to justify cycles that occur. We often try to force our path into a time table. Perception is subjective, leading to many roads. Who is to say what the correct path is?

Rounding up the old work...

This photograph is once piece in a series of photographs featuring walls in interesting spaces with graffiti art in the setting. In this photograph my main focus was attempting to capture all the details of the fence and wall while working in the shadow space.

I am working as a photographer for this designer's clothing line. We had our first shoot yesterday, and I think it mostly went well for a first time. I'm really enjoying learning how to take these types of photographs. I really need to work on my close-ups and maybe creating another light source for indoor shots. I hate using any kind of flash, I feel its inappropriate for the situation and will drown out all of the subtleties of the clothing and change the ambiance of the design.

Another past work...

This summer I attended an outing with the Locust Street Neighborhood Art Center. We travelled to Forest Lawn Cemetery where we were challenged by the great Kenn Morgan to capture different types of photographs. This is the most successful image I took from the voyage; a geometric view of the Frank Lloyd Wright memorial - in a way that I felt captured the style through the monument. White marble is incredibly hard to photograph on a bright sunny July day.

Sharing work from the past few years...

I have an enormous amount of work from the past few years that I will attempt to post. I plan to post past work mixed with current happenings and creations.

This photograph is one out of a large series I created in 2007. This series entitled The Wall focusses on the decaying urban settings that I was surrounded with throughout that time (and still am now). I feel that the ability to look out your apartment windows and see only a wall from another house/building is really iconic of Buffalo neighborhoods. Throughout this series, I am trying to emphasize the warring forces of nature and development - industrial/man made settings versus an ever resilient natural force. The vines overtake the wall of the abandoned building and throughout the seasons they lose their leaves, showing the skeletal vine structure.

Printed and developed using D-76 developer on Ilford Matte Paper. The entire series is shot with a 5x7 view camera. Original print is 11" x 14".
